Major Management Information Systems Major The Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) is a concentrated study of computer and business topics for students who want to pursue computer-oriented careers in management information systems. The computer component introduces development tools, database systems, and other information management techniques used by organizations and workgroups. The business component provides a strong background in business, economics, and accounting with an emphasis in management. Students majoring in MIS can apply methods such as On-line Analytical Processing, Linear Programming, Queing Theory, MOnte Carlo Simulation, PERT, Data MIning, Database Querying, and Intelligent Agents to decision problems in management science. The requirements for a Bachelor of Science degree in MIS include 22 hours of Management Information Systems and Computer Information Systems courses, 30 hours of Business courses, and an advanced mathematics course.
