Sports Management

 

The bachelor of science degree with a major in sports management is designed to educate students with academic and practical experience in the business and management aspects of sports. This degree is designed for students interested in a career in sports-related areas other than teacher education. A degree is sports management will prepare majors for careers in athletic directing, sports information, sports marketing, and recreational sports management positions. Students will also be eligible to pursue a minor in business administration with the addition of three business courses (Accounting II, Macroeconomics, and Microeconomics).

Bachelor of Science Degree with a Major in Sports Management:

Fifty hours are required, including Spm 150, 225, 250, 315, 450, 476, 2 hours chosen from Spm 325, 330, 335, 340, Ped 104, 350, 415, Hlt 209, Bus 210, 301 or 430, 305 or 306, 365, 429, Act 125, and 3 hours chosen from Com 214, 302, or 303.

Students can enroll in suggested classes to enhance the major: Business-oriented suggested classes: Act 126, Arm 355, 360, Eco 201, 202, Bus 306, 311, 414, Cis 230, 250, 350, Mis 220, 225, and Com 201.

Sports-oriented suggested class: Ped 216, 228, or 229, 230, 305, 312, 313, 314, 318, 326, 336, 411, Bio 210, 211, Hlt 333, 340, or His 392.
