Special Education
The importance of teaching children with special needs cannot be overstated. All school districts seek teachers who are knowledgeable and sympathetic to the needs of students who face learning challenges.
To become certified to teach special education, students must complete elementary certification and focus on at least one specific area of concentration.

- K-12 Mild/Moderate: Cross Categorical
Student Teaching
To receive certification for special education, you will be required to student teach for six weeks in an elementary classroom and six weeks in a special education classroom.
