2005 - Greece

Greece TripThe trip to Greece included overnight stays in Athens, Nafplio, Sparta, Olympia, Delphi, and Kalambaka, as well as side trips and a cruise to the islands of Hydra, Poros and Aegina. Of course, in Greece, the stars are the ancient ruins of sanctuaries, theatres, tombs, fortifications and temples to the gods. Also included were visits to key museums, palaces, monasteries, and cathedrals to see Greek art, sculpture, and cultural artifacts. The group enjoyed a visit to the ancient Olympic Stadium, where they saw pedestals on which the victors stood as well as "pedestals of shame" – for the cheaters. And there was ample opportunity to enjoy modern Greece – shopping, dining, and dancing.
