Campus Network

Campus Ethernet
The campus community shares an information system connected via a campus-wide ethernet. The ethernet is supported on a fiber-optic backbone to all the buildings and then via standard Category 5e wiring to rooms within each building.

Server Platforms
C-SC uses a wide variety of server platforms to serve different fucntions on campus. In total, the campus computer network is supported by two Novell Netware® 6.5 Servers and 9 Microsoft Windows® 2000 and 2003 servers. These servers perform various tasks including web services, MSSQL® Database applications, printer services, e-mail distribution, file storage services and student projects.

Internet Access
Student, faculty and staff enjoy the benefits of a high speed Internet connection. The college has a total of 4 1.5Mbps T1 Internet connections provided by MORENet (Missouri Research and Education Network) that are configured to work as one 6.0Mbps Internet connection.

C-SC provides 33.6kbps modem dial-up networking for faculty and staff from their homes as resources permit. Students enjoy Internet access from their dorm rooms through our ResNet service.
