ADMISSION COUNSELOR

The Culver-Stockton Admission Office seeks an energetic and dynamic individual to join our professional team. The full-time, 12-month position of Admission Counselor is responsible for recruiting students and guiding them through the college selection process. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication, computer, and organizational skills. A high energy level, goal-oriented, ability to write and speak clearly, and a sense of marketing are valued.  Extensive telecounseling is also required.

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF ENGLISH

Culver-Stockton College invites applications for two full-time, nine-month faculty appointments in the Department of English beginning in August 2016. We are seeking dynamic teachers and collaborative colleagues eager to participate in the life of the college. C-SC faculty are committed to excellence in teaching and academic advising, participating in faculty governance, serving on college committees, and assisting with student recruitment. 



Culver-Stockton College seeks individuals who will be able to assist with a new college-wide emphasis on writing skills.  The new faculty members will take a very active role in teaching composition courses, and one of them will be appointed specifically to direct our Writing Across the Curriculum initiative.  In addition to college-wide needs in composition, there are specific departmental needs in rhetoric, literary theory, American literature, and British literature. Additional qualifications sufficient to teach introductory courses in philosophy or world religions are also highly desirable.

Culver-Stockton College also seeks an individual with an English education specialization to teach our English education courses as well as to advise our English education majors and to observe them during student teaching.  Successful candidates will have secondary English experience as well as college teaching experience.



A completed PhD in English at the time of appointment is preferred and required for a tenure-track position; ABD applicants as well as those with a Master's degree in the field will be considered for a renewable lecturer position. Successful teaching experience in the classroom and online preferred. Successful candidates must have evidence of an ability to work effectively with students and colleagues and have a strong commitment to undergraduate liberal arts education and experiential learning. ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF MUSIC

Culver-Stockton College invites applications for a full-time, tenure track, Assistant Professor of Music position that will begin August 2016. The Assistant Professor of Music will primarily serve as a vocal professor, teaching applied lessons, pedagogy and literature, diction, and opera workshop with preference given to those with piano skills. Secondary teaching responsibilities will be selected from the candidate’s area of expertise and other responsibilities will include academic advising, recruitment, assisting with the annual tour, and other duties as necessary to achieve the College’s mission and goals. Culver-Stockton College is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music.

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF PSYCHOLOGY

Culver-Stockton College invites applications for a full-time, tenure track, Assistant Professor of Psychology position that will begin August 2016. Candidates with expertise in behaviorism or counseling are preferred but will considered all areas of specialization.  Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses within the departmental core including introductory psychology, history of psychology, and courses in the candidate's area of specialization.  Additional responsibilities include academic advising, committee work, and assisting in student recruitment.

DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Missouri is seeking a proactive and entrepreneurial Development Officer (DO) that will report directly to the Senior Director for Advancement and Alumni Relations.  The Development Officer will be working in close collaboration with a highly talented development team and the Development Officer will be responsible for identifying and building relationships with prospective donors, developing strategies for their cultivation, and soliciting gifts at both the major gift and leadership gift level.  An average of five face-to-face donor contacts weekly in addition to phone and email contacts will be expected as well as other duties as necessary to advance the College’s mission and goals.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors degree (graduate or professional degree preferred) and will have 5+ years of formal development experience, preferably in higher education; however, those with a similar record of professional service and who exhibit the knowledge of and skills for professional development work will receive careful consideration.

In addition, the successful candidate should be highly collaborative in approach, demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills, and interpersonal skills necessary for building relationships with various college constituents, both internal and external. Qualified applicants must have a professional background of meeting established goals and objectives in a timely manner related to the areas of sales, marketing or fundraising.  Some evening and weekend commitments will be required as well as the ability and willingness to travel, including overnight, as necessary.

HOUSEKEEPER/CUSTODIAN

Culver-Stockton College has an immediate opening for a full time Housekeeper/Custodian that will work Tuesday through Saturday. Responsibilities include cleaning hallways, classrooms, exterior entries, and restrooms; operate commercial machines; and handle concentrated commercial products. The candidate must also be prepared for physically demanding activities and be able to walk/stand for extended periods, climb stairs frequently, and to lift and carry weights of up to 75 pounds. Excellent teamwork and people skills are critical due to frequent contact and interaction with faculty, staff, and students.

WRITER AND EDITOR

(part-time)

Culver-Stockton College is accepting applications for a part-time Writer and Editor to work within the Office of Marketing and Public Relations.  Responsibilities will include writing and editing for Culver-Stockton College marketing materials, news releases, video/radio scripts, and magazines as well as for the College website and other online content and other duties as necessary to advance the College’s mission and goals. Successful applicants will be comfortable in a fast-paced environment, communicate well both orally and in writing, and be comfortable using and learning various computer software programs and online tools.  This position will also work closely with the media and will assist with press coverage on campus, as well as conduct interviews.  This position provides guidance to administration, staff, and faculty in using literary best practices and in the best practices for maintaining the College’s brand in written form.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, creative writing, or related field and at least two years of writing experience. Qualified applicants will be well versed in the AP Style Guide. Able to work evening and weekends as necessary.

VICE PRESIDENT FOR ADVANCEMENT

Culver-Stockton College is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Vice President for Advancement.  This position will be responsible for leading Culver-Stockton College’s development and alumni relations programs in order to build the external financial support necessary to sustaining and advancing C-SC’s mission. The Vice President works closely with the President of the College to define and achieve advancement’s goals, including planning and conducting major fundraising campaigns. The Vice President for Advancement will design and implement a comprehensive advancement plan to meet Culver-Stockton College’s fundraising goals, including yearly plans for The Scholarship (annual) Fund, major outright gifts, planned gifts, and corporate and foundation gifts that include dollar targets, related performance measures, strategies, and reports to track and evaluate progress against planned goals.  The Vice President for Advancement will travel frequently for the College and must have affinity with the mission and values of Culver-Stockton College.

A bachelor’s degree or more advanced degree is required from an accredited higher education institution and thorough knowledge of the principles and best practices of successful advancement programs.  Qualified applicants must have a proven track record or leading and managing successful advancement programs, preferably in higher education, including successful capital campaigns, along with sound judgment, impeccable integrity, demonstrated initiative, appropriate professional appearance and the attitude and personality to work effectively with advancement colleagues, C-SC senior administrators, board members, alumni association members, faculty and staff members, volunteers, and other constituents.
