ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF BIOLOGY

Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Missouri, is seeking qualified applicants for the full-time tenure track position of Assistant Professor of Biology, responsible for teaching courses in molecular and cell biology, genetics and evolution, microbiology, biology for non-majors, and other related courses assigned by the department.The Assistant Professor in Biology will also advise students and engage in research or other scholarly activities with the needs of the department. Culver-Stockton College is a full member participant in the Howard Hughes Medical Institute’s (HHMI) Science Education Alliance National Genomics Research Initiative. ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF BUSINESS

Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Missouri, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Professor of Business.This is a full-time position with a possibility to be tenure-track in a dynamic experientially-based business program. The college seeks a generalist with a background in healthcare or healthcare administration. This position will teach courses in the dimensions of healthcare as well as advise students in a healthcare administration degree. Other courses taught will depend on the individual’s background but may include entry-level accounting or economics, management, or marketing courses. Additional responsibilities include academic advising, committee work, and assisting in student recruitment.

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF EDUCATION

Culver-Stockton College seeks to fill a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Education position with a scholar committed to the continued development and implementation of experiential learning and education theory, practice, and scholarship. The successful candidate must have the ability to work effectively with students and colleagues and have a strong commitment to undergraduate liberal arts education. Responsibilities will include teaching courses in the teacher education program, advising students, supervising student teachers, and collaborating in ongoing evolution of innovative undergraduate and graduate programs.  The Assistant Professor of Education will also be expected to:

- Assist with gathering and analyzing assessment information concerning the program and student learning.
- Maintain connections and communication with alumni as needed.
- Committee work requiring ability to lead and complete tasks independently including service on the Council of Teacher Education.
- Active participation in the life of the campus through attendance at sporting, fine art, and academic events.
- Participation in activities related to maintaining compliance with state certification requirements including webinars, conferences, and trainings.
- Assisting with prospective student visits and summer registrations of new incoming students.
- Providing leadership in planning and conducting annual department activities such as Hall of Excellence ceremonies and Education Week activities.

Qualifications: Masters in Education required, Education Specialist or Ph.D/Ed.D degree preferred. Degrees in instructional technology or other related field considered. A minimum of 5 years public school teaching experience in PK-5 is required with experience in early childhood and literacy. On-line teaching and experience teaching in graduate education is a plus as the position may require offering courses through the online teaching environment and may include opportunities to teach graduate level courses.

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF MUSIC

Culver-Stockton College invites applications for a full-time, tenure track, Assistant Professor of Music position that will begin August 2016. The Assistant Professor of Music will primarily serve as a vocal professor, teaching applied lessons, pedagogy and literature, diction, and opera workshop with preference given to those with piano skills. Secondary teaching responsibilities will be selected from the candidate’s area of expertise and other responsibilities will include academic advising, recruitment, assisting with the annual tour, and other duties as necessary to achieve the College’s mission and goals. Culver-Stockton College is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music.

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF PSYCHOLOGY

Culver-Stockton College invites applications for a full-time, tenure track, Assistant Professor of Psychology position that will begin August 2016. Candidates with expertise in behaviorism or counseling are preferred but will considered all areas of specialization. Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses within the departmental core including introductory psychology, history of psychology, and courses in the candidate's area of specialization. C-SC fields 18 NAIA sports which compete in the Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC).

In accordance with all NAIA, Heart of America Athletic Conference and Culver-Stockton College policies and procedures, the position of Assistant Softball Coach reports to the Head Softball Coach and is responsible for assisting in administering the entire operation of the program including (but not limited to) the recruitment of student-athletes, practice and contest planning, participate in player skill development, and other duties assigned by the Head Coach.

CAMPUS SAFETY OFFICER

Culver-Stockton College has an immediate opening for a full time Campus Safety Officer. This is a 12-month position that will work 32 hours per week and have responsibilities in both security and physical plant. Work hours for this position will vary and include shifts on days, nights, weekends and/or holidays to provide 24 hour coverage as needed. During the academic year primary responsibilities will include security work such as securing and opening buildings, conducting investigations, report writing, issuing tickets for policy violations, safety checks, patrols and other assigned duties related to basic maintenance tasks. During the summer months responsibilities will include working with the physical plant on tasks such as mowing, basic landscaping work, trash removal, painting and assisting other physical plant staff with projects.

The candidate must be prepared for physically demanding activities and must be able to spend long periods of time on their feet and traverse all types of terrain in all types of weather. Must be able to walk/stand for extended periods, climb stairs frequently, and to lift and carry weights of up to 75 pounds. Excellent teamwork and people skills are critical due to frequent contact and interaction with faculty, staff, and students. A current driver’s license is required along with computer experience and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written. Must have a strong ability to communicate effectively by radio or telephone in stressful conditions and prior safety/security experience a plus but is not required.

HOUSEKEEPER/CUSTODIAN

Responsibilities include cleaning hallways, classrooms, exterior entries, and restrooms; operate commercial machines; and handle concentrated commercial products. INTERNATIONAL STUDENT COORDINATOR

Culver-Stockton College is hiring for a full-time International Student Coordinator that will provide academic advising to international students and be responsible for maintaining the F-1 and J-1 visas and government financial support as well as support in all other areas as necessary.  The International Student Coordinator will be responsible for relationship management and maintaining personal contact with prospective and current students throughout the registration and enrollment process, assist students with obtaining employment after graduation, serve as a Designated School Official for SEVIS and will be the advisor for the International Student Organization.  This position will work the Admission and Financial Aid Office to centralize the financial guarantee processing for international agencies whose governments provide educational funding, and will collaborate with the Admissions Office and Student Life to facilitate and coordinate Orientation for the International Students. The International Student Coordinator will also arrange tutoring for international students and may serve as a tutor at times, will teach once course each semester, as well as other duties as necessary to advance the mission and goals of Culver-Stockton College.

A Bachelor’s Degree in education, ESL or related field is required along with experience working with diverse populations.  Preferred qualifications included a Master’s Degree in education, ESL or related field along with teaching experience and experience working with college students who speak English as a second language. DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Missouri is seeking a proactive and entrepreneurial Development Officer (DO) that will report directly to the Senior Director for Advancement and Alumni Relations.  The Development Officer will be working in close collaboration with a highly talented development team and the Development Officer will be responsible for identifying and building relationships with prospective donors, developing strategies for their cultivation, and soliciting gifts at both the major gift and leadership gift level.  An average of five face-to-face donor contacts weekly in addition to phone and email contacts will be expected as well as other duties as necessary to advance the College’s mission and goals.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors degree (graduate or professional degree preferred) and will have 5+ years of formal development experience, preferably in higher education; however, those with a similar record of professional service and who exhibit the knowledge of and skills for professional development work will receive careful consideration.

In addition, the successful candidate should be highly collaborative in approach, demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills, and interpersonal skills necessary for building relationships with various college constituents, both internal and external. Qualified applicants must have a professional background of meeting established goals and objectives in a timely manner related to the areas of sales, marketing or fundraising.  Some evening and weekend commitments will be required as well as the ability and willingness to travel, including overnight, as necessary.
