Jake Schneider ‘99 learned the value of hard work during his years as a student at Culver-Stockton College. Now he is putting that experience to good use as the co-owner of BuzzBroz. Jake works with his brother, Luke ‘00, and good friend Charlie Gauthier, raising honey bees and making handcrafted premium lip balm from the beeswax and honey. The trio also grows and sells organic produce in the St. Louis area, as well as running a small commercial vineyard in Hermann, Mo., where they grow and sell wine grapes to local wineries. “I really like working outdoors and growing stuff that is good for people and the environment; plus, watching Luke get stung by bees is always fun!”
As a student at Culver-Stockton, Jake was a member of the Lamda Chi Alpha fraternity and the Wildcat soccer team. When discussing his time on the Hill, Jake tells others, “It’s a great place to learn while avoiding some of the overwhelming aspects that can come with ‘big school’ education.” Following his graduation from C-SC, Jake went on to earn a VESTA Enology Certification from Missouri State.
His future goals include growing the BuzzBroz business and eventually working in his own vineyard/winery full-time.
