Cross country was reinstated as an intercollegiate sport after nearly 30 years and has quickly risen to prominence in the athletic food chain. Several runners challenged for the conference title in 2008 and many more challenges will be forthcoming as the Wildcats build a powerful recruiting base. For more information on cross country, contact Head Coach Dr. Andrew Walsh at 573-288-6376 or awalsh@culver.edu. |

Culver-Stockton College Men and Women’s Cross Country Coach Dr. Andrew Walsh resigned from his position effective immediately C-SC Athletic Director Greg McVey has announced. McVey also announced that current track and field coach Doug Savage will take over the cross country program and serve as its head coach.
Walsh, who has coached the Wildcat cross country teams for two years, will continue to serve as an associate professor of religion and philosophy at Culver-Stockton College.
"I have absolutely loved serving as the head coach of the cross country teams at Culver-Stockton College," said Walsh. "I will continue to volunteer my time to the program, but I need to get back to the academic side of my profession and work on my research."
Walsh, who has been a professor at Culver-Stockton for 11 years, was named the third cross country coach since the program was re-instituted in 2006, replacing Tish Hannah. He helped bring some growth to the program in two seasons, helping it build a roster to compete for the team title at the Heart of America Athletic Conference championships. The Wildcat men finished eighth last week at the HAAC championships.
