The men's basketball program on the Hill has more than 1,000 victories in its storied history. The first team took the court in 1912; and since then many successful teams and players have worn the Wildcat uniform. The Wildcats have qualified for the NAIA National Tournament five times overall. Seven players have been named NAIA scholar-athletes; and one, Dane Brooks, was named to the NAIA All-America third team in 2007. Fantazia, Peugh named to All-HAAC team

CANTON, Mo. — Culver-Stockton College placed two men on the 2008-09 Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) all-conference basketball team, which was released Monday morning.
Senior guard Brice Fantazia was named to the second team while junior guard Phil Peugh was an honorable mention selection.
Fantazia, a 6-foot-4 transfer from Turlock, Calif. (Modesto Christian HS / North Central College), tied for the team lead in scoring, averaging 16.1 points per game, and led the team with 152 assists, an average of 5.24 per game. He shot 45.1 percent from the field (172-381) and 70.1 percent from the free throw line (110-157).
Fantazia also averaged 4.3 rebounds per game and 1.21 steals per game. He scored a career-high 35 points versus MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.) University on Feb. 28, and had a career-high 11 assists against Central Methodist (Mo.) University on Feb. 26. He was named the HAAC Player of the Week for the week ending Feb. 28, 2009.
Peugh, a 6-foot-2 guard from Rock Falls, Ill. (Rock Falls HS/Sauk Valley CC), joins Fantazia on the all-HAAC team after averaging 16.1 points per game and making 85 three-pointers this season, which was just two off the school single-season record of 87.
Peugh also averaged 4.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.4 steals per game for the Wildcats. He shot 44.4 percent from the field (168-219), 85.9 percent from the free throw line (61-71) and 38.8 percent from outside the arc (85-219). He tied the school record for 3-pointers in a game with seven against Columbia College on Nov. 14, 2008, and had a season-high 25 points on four different occasions.
