The men's basketball program on the Hill has more than 1,000 victories in its storied history. The first team took the court in 1912; and since then many successful teams and players have worn the Wildcat uniform. The Wildcats have qualified for the NAIA National Tournament five times overall. Seven players have been named NAIA scholar-athletes; and one, Dane Brooks, was named to the NAIA All-America third team in 2007. Peugh named to All-HAAC 2nd team

Culver-Stockton College senior Phil Peugh was named to the 2009-10 Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) all-conference men’s basketball team, which was released Monday morning.
Peugh, a 6-foot-2 guard from Rock Falls, Ill. (Rock Falls HS/Sauk Valley CC), was named to the second team after averaging 16.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.7 steals per game during the regular season. He shot 42.2 percent (162-384) from the field overall, 39.1 percent (81-207) from 3-point land and 88.6 percent (93-105) from the foul line.
In the HAAC, Peugh finished sixth in scoring per game, sixth in 3-point field goal percentage, 10th in overall field goal percentage, second in free throw percentage and second in 3-pointers made with 81. Nationally, Peugh ranked fifth in free throw percentage and 13th in 3-pointers made in the NAIA.
In addition, Peugh scored in double-figures in 23 of the 30 games he played in, including 20 or more points 13 times. He netted a career-high 32 points in the Wildcats’ 85-75 victory over Graceland on Feb. 16. He recorded seven 3-pointers against Missouri Valley College on Dec. 16, 2009, tying a school record he holds with five other players. He also tied the school record for most steals in a game with seven against Missouri Valley on Feb. 4.
Culver-Stockton completed the 2009-10 season with a 7-23 overall record and placed ninth in the 11-team HAAC with a 5-15 league mark.
