Wildcats hand out postseason awards

Culver-Stockton College held it annual soccer awards banquet on Sunday, Nov. 20, in Meaders Lounge in the Gladys Crown Center on the Culver-Stockton campus.
For the Wildcats, senior midfielder Patrick Carroll, a junior from Quincy, Ill. (Notre Dame HS), was named the team’s most valuable player. Carroll scored one goal and recorded a team-high four assists.
Senior forward Kyle Hayward (Cole Camp, Mo. / Cole Camp HS) was named the best offensive player after scoring a team-high seven goals, including two game-winning goals, and dishing out one assist for 15 total points. Sophomore defender Conner Halpin (Lake St. Louis, Mo. (Wentzville Holt HS) was named the best defensive player.
In other awards, freshman Bryan Fahs (Lake St. Louis, Mo. / Wentzville Holt HS) was named the newcomer of the year, while senior Hanso Denis (St. Louis, Mo. / Rockwood Summit HS) was named the most improved player. Senior Eric Thomas (Quincy, Ill. / Notre Dame HS) was named the Wildcats’ Champion of Character award for sportsmanship.
The Wildcats finished the 2007 campaign with a 6-12 overall record finished eighth in the Heart of America Athletic Conference with a 3-6 mark.
