Bio:
Mark Thomas is in his fourth season as the head coach of the Wildcat and Lady Wildcat soccer programs. He has compiled 15-35-3 overall record directing the women's program; and a 13-40 overall record with the men's program.
Thomas is a native of Quincy, Ill., who starred at Quincy Notre Dame High School and Quincy University.
Thomas played professional soccer for 13 seasons and registered 660 points, including 407 goals in 388 career games. His goal total ranks 22nd among all-time indoor soccer goal leaders.
Thomas has competed with a number of National Professional Soccer League (NPSL) organizations during his pro indoor career, including the St. Louis Steamers, Kansas City Attack, Cleveland Crunch, Cincinnati Silverbacks, Florida Thundercats and Baltimore Blast. He also played parts of six seasons for the Sacramento Knights of the Continental Indoor Soccer League (CISL).
During his professional career, he founded "Goals for Kids," a foundation to help the Wind Youth Center for Underprivileged Children in Sacramento, Calif. He also received the Ronald McDonald Children's Charities Award for civic leadership and outstanding community service.
In addition to his soccer duties at Culver-Stockton, Thomas is currently serving as the administrative director of the First Tee Program in Quincy. The First Tee program helps create affordable and accessible golf facilities and instruction to youth who have not been exposed to the game.
Bio:
Bill Schneider will serve as an assistant for the men’s team for the sixth straight season.
Schneider was the first head coach of the Wildcat soccer program when the program began in 1988. He stepped down prior to the 2002 season to concentrate on his duties as chairman of the physical education department and as head coach of the men’s golf team. He guided the Wildcat kickers to a 94-125-16 overall record in his 14 seasons on the Hill.
The Wildcats made five Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) Tournament appearances and four NAIA District 16 appearances during his tenure. In addition, he coached more than 50 all-conference players, three HAAC most valuable players and one HAAC defensive most valuable player.
Prior to coming to Culver-Stockton, Schneider served as an assistant soccer coach at Quincy (Ill.) High School.
Schneider received his bachelor’s degree from Quincy College in 1987, and his master of science degree from the United States Sports Academy in 1990.
Schneider resides in Quincy with his wife, Brenda, daughter, Melinda, and son, Brian.
