Allen honored for 2nd time by CoSIDA

Culver-Stockton College senior basketball player Kristin Allen has been named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District VII basketball team (college division) as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

The college division of district VII is comprised of non-Division I schools in Missouri, Iowa, South Dakota, North Dakota, Nebraska, Colorado and Montana.

Allen, an athletic training major from Vandalia, Mo. (Van-Far HS), was a third team selection on the 17-member all-district team. This is the second straight year Allen has been named on the all-district team.

Allen has started 13 of the 17 games she has appeared for the Lady Wildcats this season and is averaging a team-high 11.1 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. Allen missed five games due to a foot injury earlier this season. The three-time Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) all-league selection is making 43.6 percent (71-163) of her field goal attempts and leads the team with 24 blocked shots. Earlier this season, Allen became just the third Lady Wildcat to record 100 blocked shots in a career. She is third on the all-time list with 102 rejections. In addition, Allen is currently is ninth on the Lady Wildcat all-time scoring list with 1,266 points.

Culver-Stockton, located in Canton, Mo., is affiliated with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and is a member of the 11-team HAAC consisting of schools in Missouri, Kansas and Iowa.
