Softball upends top-ranked OKCU

The Culver-Stockton College softball dropped two of three games at Evangel's Show-Me Classic Saturday afternoon in Springfield, Mo.
The Wildcats' only victory was a 4-1 decision over Oklahoma City University, the top-ranked team in the NAIA Preseason Top 25 national poll.
Sara Eggleston hurled a five hitter and struck out one in defeating the Stars. Melissa Goehl was 2-for-3 with a run and two RBI. Jackie Clark and Katelin Goddard collected two hits to lead the offense.
In the first game of the day, C-SC dropped a 6-4 decision to Dana (Neb.) in nine innings. Goddard and Carley Thurston led the offense with two hits in five at-bats.
The Wildcats fell in their final game of the tournament, losing to Bellevue (Neb.) 10-2 in a game that was stopped after five innings.
C-SC (3-2) will participate in the Oklahoma Baptist Tournament next weekend, March 7-8, in Shawnee, Okla.
