Culver-Stockton College junior guard Coy Bainter has been named a 2008 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Daktronics Men’s Basketball All-America Scholar-Athlete for his work in the classroom and on the playing court this past season.
Bainter, a business and sports management major from Barry, Ill. (Barry HS), was one of two players to start all 29 games for the Wildcats this season. He averaged 8.2 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.4 assists while playing 34.9 minutes per game. Bainter is a three-year letterwinner for the Wildcats.
One hundred thirty-five student-athletes were named to the 2008 scholar-athlete list. Recipients of the NAIA-Daktronics Scholar-Athlete honor must have a junior or senior academic standing and maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.50.
