Culver-Stockton College right-hander Thomas Coble has been named the Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) and Region V Baseball Pitcher of the Week for his performance in a victory over McKendree University last week.
Coble, a 6-foot-4, 200-pound junior from Richmond, Calif. (Diablo Valley JC), shut out the Bearcats over six innings in a 2-0 victory on April 13. He allowed two hits, walked two and struck out seven before being relieved at the beginning of the seventh inning.
For the year, Coble is 2-0 with a 1.29 earned run average in four starts. He has hurled 14 innings, walked 13 and struck out 17 in those starts, and opponents are hitting a paltry .174 against him this season.
Culver-Stockton, currently 24-9 on the season, is scheduled to host MacMurray College in a single, non-conference game on Thursday, April 17. Game time is slated for 3 p.m.
