Culver-Stockton's Katie MacBride scored a goal and added a school record-tying four assists as the Lady Wildcat soccer team upended Knox College (Ill.) 7-0 Saturday afternoon at Ayers Field.
The victory was the first for C-SC boss Tyler Tomlinson and improved the overall record to 1-2-1 on the season.
MacBride assisted on the first three goals of the game as she found Alyssa Houska off of a corner kick in the fourth minute; Ashley Porter in the 25th minute and Jordan Sergi in the 30th minute of the first half.
Abbey Kortz rounded out the first half scoring for the Lady Wildcats as she punched the ball by the Prairie Fire goalie in the 39th minute to make it 4-0. Allie Bjork assisted on the goal.
The Lady Wildcats were just as dominant in the second half, out shooting the visitors 15-3 in the second 45 minutes, and 33-4 overall.
MacBride picked up her fourth assist of the game when her shot attempt rebounded out front onto the foot of Jackie LeGrand who buried it for her first goal of the year.
MacBride then netted her first goal of the season in the 56th minute before Porter rounded out the scoring with her second goal of the game in the 89th minute.
Jacqui Porter and Lina Schiel-Madsen combined on the shutout. Each played a half and Schiel-Madsen was called upon to make one save in the game.
The Lady Wildcats (1-2-1) to play at Simpson College on Sunday, Sept. 18, in Indianola, Iowa. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
