Aron Potter officially returned to her roots as mentor of the Wildcat softball program on May 31, 2011.

Potter, a native of Vandalia, Mo., was most recently a volunteer assistant softball coach and instructor at the University of Central Missouri from 2008-10 before returning to Culver-Stockton in August 2010 as a lecturer of physical education.

Prior to UCM, Potter served stints as head softball coach, first at Coffeyville (Kan.) Community College from 2002-05, and then at Missouri Southern State University in Joplin from 2005-08.

At Coffeyville, Potter took over a program that was under .500 and moved them up to an above .500 team in her three seasons. She posted a 79-83 overall record in her three seasons, including a 31-25 overall record and a 12-6 conference mark in 2005 when the Red Ravens placed second in National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region VI play. She was the Kansas Jayhawk East Conference Coach of the Year in 2003.

Potter was hired as Missouri Southern’s sixth head coach in the summer of 2005 and coached the Lions for three seasons, tabulating a 41-88 overall record. Her best season in Joplin was in 2006 when the Lions finished 17-23 overall. Off the field, MSSU were twice named as one of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Academic Division II Top 25 academic teams during Potter's tenure.

Potter played at Culver-Stockton from 1994-97 where she was four-year letterwinner. She was a three-time Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) all-conference selection, including Player of the Year in 1996 and a first team pick in 1997. She was also an all-Midwest Region first team selection in 1996 and 1997. Potter played on one HAAC regular season championship team, two HAAC Tournament championship teams and two Midwest Region qualifiers.

Potter still holds the career records for doubles and RBIs, and is listed in the top 10 in ten other offensive categories including batting average, hits, runs scored, triples and home runs. Also, walks, total bases, slugging percentage, stolen bases and sacrifices. Defensively, Potter ranks in the top 10 in assists and chances. She was inducted into the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 2007.

Potter earned a bachelor's degree in physical education and health from C-SC in 1998, and a master's degree in exercise science, physical education and health from Central Missouri State University in 2002. She served as a graduate assistant for CMSU's softball and volleyball teams, as well as teaching elementary physical education for the Warrensburg School District.

Bio:
Rich Polak is a returning assistant coach for the Lady Wildcats.

Originally from Chicago, Ill., Polak attended Brother Rice High School where he was an all-state shortstop in 1985. He accepted a full baseball scholarship to University of Central Florida and was a four year lettermen for the Knights.

In 1989, Polak was drafted by the New York Yankees in the 20th round 1989. In 1992, he was Rolaids Relief Pitcher of the Year and Carolina League All-star. In 1992, he was chosen to play winter ball in Venezuela., and the following year played in the Arizona Fall League. He played in the Yankee organization until 1995.

After his professional playing days were done, Polak turned to coaching and has had held several positions within the game of baseball and softball. He was the head pitching instructor at Highland Baseball Academy in Highland, Indiana from 1998-2002, the head pitching instructor at MVP Baseball Academy in Lake Worth, Fla., from 2003-06 and coached the varsity baseball team at Grandview Preparatory School in Boca Raton in 2008 as well as an under 18 Gold Colege exposure softball team that same year. During that time he coached two baseball teams that reached the Elite 32 from 2007-10.

Polak is currently working towards his bachelor’s degree. He is married to Sandra Polak and has three children, Casey 19, Jennie 15 and Joey 14.
 

Diane TenEyck

Bio:
Diane TenEyck is in her first season as an assistant with the Lady Wildcat softball program.

No stranger to softball, TenEyck coached at Highland High School in Ewing, Mo., for 21 years, including 18 as head coach. During her tenure, she won four Clarence Cannon Conference championships and appeared in three state tournaments, finishing fourth in 1990 and third in 1982. Her most memorable moment came in her final season of 2005 when the Cougars finished off a 24-0 season by winning the state championship. She finished her coaching career with a 241-100 overall record. She was named conference coach of the year four times, Quincy (Ill.) Herald-Whig Coach of the Year in 2005 and Midwest Sectional Coach of the Year in 2006. During the summer of 2011, TenEyck was inducted in to the Missouri High School Fast Pitch Hall of Fame.

TenEcyk was born and raised in LaBelle, Mo., where she graduated from LaBelle High School. She attended and graduated from Northeast Missouri State University (now Truman State University) with a bachelor’s degree in health and physical education. She taught at Highland High School in Lewis Co. C-1 District for 33 years, retiring from there in 2005.

During her spare time, TenEyck has helped coach and assist with the Missouri/Illinois all star game held in July. In the summers she also helps coach a 14-under softball girl’s team, and also helps with her son with a peewee softball team. She is still helps assist with the softball programs at Highland High School.

TenEyck still lives in LaBelle with her long-time partner Ron. She has two children and three stepchildren and has been blessed with seven grandchildren.
