Classy 'Cats awarded Superior trophy

Members of Culver-Stockton College’s dance team, the Classy ’Cats, recently received a “Superior” trophy at the Universal Dance Association College Camp in Springfield, Mo.
The Classy ’Cats, under the direction of Melissa Viloria, were represented by four members of the team in Springfield. They were co-captain Megan Christy, Katie Fretwell, Bekah Mathiesen and Amanda Hanlin.
Teams learn dance routines and are evaluated the last day of camp. Teams may receive trophies based on their percentage of ribbons earned and the number of team members participating.
The Classy ’Cats perform at all home football and basketball games and in the Heart of America Athletic Conference spirit squad competition each year. In addition, the team also performs at other functions in the community, such as the Miss Hannibal pageant last year.
