Culver-Stockton College athletic director Greg McVey announced today that Dirk Doehring has been hired as the head track and field coach for the Wildcats. Doehring replaces Tish Hanna, who resigned in May. He will also serve as an assistant football coach for Cameron Keller and the football Wildcats.

Doehring recently finished his second season as an assistant coach with the Defiance College (Ohio) track and field program where he worked primarily with athletes in jumps and sprints.

Prior to Defiance, Doehring, who is USATF Level I certified, served as an assistant track coach at Millikin University (Ill.) for two seasons, where he coached 13 all-conference athletes and one NCAA qualifier. While at Millikin he also served as an assistant coach for the school's football program. He spent one season as the head track and field coach at Argenta-Oreana High School (Ill.), guiding multiple athletes to the state meet.

Doehring earned four varsity letters in track and field and two varsity letters in football at Millikin, while serving as the track and field team captain for a season. Doehring helped set a Millikin record in the 400 meter relay, while also provisionally qualifying twice in that event for the NCAA Championships.

He graduated from Millikin University in 2002 with a degree in social sciences secondary education, and earned a master's of education degree in sport science from Defiance College in 2010.
