Tuesday, February 07, 2012
Culver-Stockton College men's soccer coach Michael Prunty has announced that Alex Williams has signed a letter of intent to attend school and play for the Wildcats, beginning with the 2012-13 school year.
"Alex is another example of where our program is heading," said Prunty. "He is a great athlete and I can't wait to get him back on campus in the fall."
Williams, a forward from Troy, Mo. (Troy Buchanan HS), netted 16 career goals for the Trojans, including nine last fall as a senior. He also added six assists for a total of 38 career points.
Williams is the third recruit signed by the Wildcats for the 2012 season. He joins Gabe Sanford, a midfielder from Urbandale, Iowa (Urbandale HS), and Jake Schierding, a defender from St. Charles, Mo. (St. Dominic HS).
Culver-Stockton, located in Canton, Mo., is affiliated with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and is a member of the 10-team Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) featuring colleges and universities in Missouri, Kansas, Iowa and Nebraska.
