The 2008 Walter S. Reuling Prize for Innovation in Student Learning

Robert A. Sadler

You have earned a strong reputation among your colleagues for innovation in the classroom for 17 years. They praise your breadth and depth of intellectual curiosity and academic experiences as physicist, meteorologist, astronomer, computer preceptor, park ranger, and science educator.

You are known by your insatiable hunger for learning, your zeal for teaching, and your mastery not only of the wide array of physical sciences, but also of many aspects of technology and business. You have won acclaim for your long history of using active learning techniques at Culver-Stockton and for being in the vanguard of bringing technological tools into our classrooms.

As we enter a new era for our academic programs, you have once again been a leader in helping your colleagues re-design and re-energize the college curriculum and finding ways to put new century innovations to work in the campus learning environment.

Dr. Robert A. Sadler, we salute you as a true Renaissance man, an outstanding and creative educator, and the deserving recipient of this inaugural Reuling Prize for Innovation in Student Learning, awarded this 10th day of May 2008.
