Minors and Specializations

Art
By pursuing a minor in art, students have an opportunity to gain knowledge and develop skills in the visual arts. The coursework can be a steppingstone for students who are planning to pursue graduate studies in architecture, art history, art therapy, interior design, museum studies and other art-related disciplines. Students must complete a minimum of 18 hours of art courses. 
Digital Media Arts
A minor in digital media arts offers students an opportunity to design and create different types of digital information that can be utilized in interactive media, multimedia, print media and on e-commerce and e-learning websites. Students will work with digital text and symbols, digital art and illustration, digital photography, digital animation and digital video. Students must complete a minimum of 18 hours of art courses.

Digital Media Arts: Students are required to complete 18 hours of course work to obtain this minor. Music: Any student many minor in music by completing 18 hours of music classes. Students minoring in music must take private lessons and complete repertoire and performance requirements for four semesters. A minor in music requires students to pass a piano proficiency exam.

Musical theatre: A student must complete at least 20 hours of theatre courses, including dance classes and at least five hours of private voice lessons.

Theatre: A student must complete at least 18 hours of theatre courses including acting, technical theatre and a variety of electives.
