Intramurals Policies
Scheduling
Scheduling is done by the intramural office the day after all entry forms are due. Games are scheduled around as many college related events as possible in order to ensure that there is the greatest amount of participation as possible. The intramural office would like for all participants' to be cooperative, as this is a difficult task.
In the event of a postponement or cancellation the intramural office will notify all team captains as soon as possible. Captains are responsible for notifying their team members. When there is a question of weather the cancellation notice will be posted on the webpage.
Rescheduling of individual games may be allowed with the consent of the opposing team and with the approval of the intramural office. In addition a rescheduling request must be submitted to the intramural office for approval by 5:00pm the day prior to the game to be rescheduled. Rescheduling request forms may be obtained on the intramural webpage or from the intramural office. There will be 1-2 days built into the schedule for games that need to be rescheduled. Rescheduled games must be made up on these days and these days only.
Forfeits
In the event that a team does not have the allotted number of players present for a game a ten-minute grace period will be allowed. If within that time contact is made with a player that is on their way a total of fifteen minutes will be allowed. After the fifteen-minute grace period teams may play with less players than required FOR FUN ONLY. The game will still be recorded as a forfeit for the team without the required number of players.
A team is allowed two forfeits per intramural season (sport). In the event of a third forfeit ALL members of that team will be ineligible for the following sport. Members include all persons on the team's roster.
Rules of Conduct
Good sportsmanship is expected of all intramural event participants at all times. Any person who commits any acts of misconduct shall be subject to disciplinary procedures to be decided by the intramural director. Acts of misconduct include, but are not limited to, threatening physical or verbal behavior toward an official or other intramural staff, verbal abuse of an official or intramural staff, and threatening behavior directed towards other participants.
In all incidents of misconduct the player will be ejected from the game and is suspended from all intramural events indefinitely. The player must meet with the intramural director to discuss the situation and decide what action should be taken.
Appeals
Appeals may not be filed in situations where a judgment call by an official is in question. Appeals are reserved for rule interpretations and player eligibility. In order to file an appeal a player must obtain an appeal form from the intramural office or webpage. The form must be filled out completely and returned to the intramural director before 5:00pm the next business day. Upheld player eligibility appeals will result in a forfeit by the team responsible for the infraction.
