Student Life Awards

C-SC Leadership Awards

  • Award CupStudent Organization Advisor of the Year:
    Jeanne Johnson - SIFE
    This award is presented to an advisor who has been nominated by his/her organization; the organization must specify why it feels their advisor deserves this recognition. The advisor who receives this award will have demonstrated that he/she is willing to go above and beyond the call of duty to guide the organization and promote leadership advancement of the members.

  • Award CupStudent Leader of the Year:
    Amanda Gibbs
    This award honors the student who has demonstrated a high level of overall involvement throughout his/her time at Culver-Stockton College. The recipient has achieved individual growth through his/her leadership, has been a presence in the C-SC community and has made sizeable contributions to the campus community as a whole.

  • Award CupService Project of the Year:
    Up ‘Til Dawn at C-SC

    This award is presented to the organization that provided the C-SC campus community with the most outstanding service project. A service project is defined as any event or program whose purpose is to raise awareness about and student involvement with a specific issue facing our society.

  • Award CupEmerging Leader Award:
    Matt Curtis

    This award is presented to a freshman or sophomore who has exhibited leadership and growth throughout his or her tenure at C-SC. This student has very quickly left his/her mark on the C-SC community.

  • Award CupC-SC Spirit Award:
    Patrick Parsons and Whitney Gibler

    This award is presented to the student who best represents pride and loyalty to the Culver-Stockton Community. By supporting college co-curricular activities and widespread campus involvement, this person makes himself/herself known and is a true representative of the Culver-Stockton College Student.

  • Award CupOutstanding Program of the Year:
    Shannon Hall Homecoming Dance

    This award is presented to recognize an outstanding program, event or activity sponsored by an individual, student organization or department. Consideration for the award included the purpose of the event, participation, and contribution to a vibrant, active and synergistic campus life.

  • Award CupOutstanding Community Involvement Award:
    Jessi Krumrei and Brad Baker

    This award is given to an undergraduate student who has chosen to dedicate his/her time and energy for the betterment of the community. He/she exemplifies the C-SC spirit through social awareness and action. Also taken into consideration is how this nominee has shared his/her experience with others in an effort to further student volunteerism.

  • Award CupStudent Organization of the Year:
    Campus Programming Council

    This award is presented to the organization that has shown the most growth, has promoted the vision and mission of Culver-Stockton College, and contributed most to campus life. The organization that is selected must be officially recognized by the Student Life Office and have had an exceptional presence during the academic year.

Greek Scholarship Cup Awards

  • Award CupFraternity/Sorority New Member Scholarship Cup:
    Sigma Kappa and Delta Upsilon
    The fraternity and sorority new member scholarship cups are awarded to the new member classes of the fraternity and sorority with the highest cumulative grade point average for the 2008 calendar year. The organization’s name and grade point average will be engraved on a travelling trophy to be displayed in the Greek Life Office.

  • Award Cup Fraternity/Sorority Active Chapter Scholarship Cup:
    Chi Omega and Lambda Chi Alpha
    The fraternity and sorority active chapter scholarship cups are awarded to the active chapter with the highest cumulative grade point average for the 2008 calendar year. The organization’s name and grade point average will be engraved on a travelling trophy to be displayed in the Greek Life Office.

  • Award CupFraternity/Sorority All Chapter Scholarship Cup:
    Chi Omega and Delta Upsilon

    The fraternity and sorority all chapter scholarship cups are awarded to the organizations with the highest overall cumulative grade point average for the 2008 calendar year. The organization’s name and grade point average will be engraved on a travelling trophy to be displayed in the Greek Life Office.

Greek Life Awards

  • Award CupOutstanding Greek Man & Woman of the Year:
    Aaron Fieseler and Alison Schmidt
    The Greek Man/Woman of the Year Award is to recognize an upperclass Greek Leader for accomplishments within the fraternity and sorority community as well as contributions to the entire campus community.

  • Award CupOutstanding Fraternity & Sorority New Initiate of the Year: Alexis Westerhausen and Jordan Hughes
    The Outstanding Fraternity & Sorority New Initiate of the Year Award is to recognize a Greek Leader who just joined his/her respective fraternity or sorority chapter within the calendar year for his/her accomplishments within the fraternity and sorority chapter, the Greek community, and the entire campus community.

  • Award CupOutstanding Emerging Greek Leaders of the Year:
    Josh Seifert, Lance Smith and Nicole Buck

    The Outstanding Emerging Greek Leader of the Year Awards are given to recognize an up-and-coming fraternity and sorority leader for his/her accomplishments within their respective chapter, the Greek community and the entire campus community.

  • Award Cup2008 Fraternity and Sorority Chapter President of the Year Award:
    Michelle Staples and Aaron Fieseler

    The Fraternity and Sorority Chapter President of the Year Award recognizes the outstanding contributions of a chapter president to his/her chapter’s success as well as influencing the growth and development of the Greek community.

  • Award CupOutstanding Sorority Advisor of the Year:
    Tammy Ellison

    The outstanding sorority advisor of the year award recognizes the individual who has excelled in providing leadership, guidance and direction to her sorority throughout the 2008 calendar year.

  • Award CupOutstanding Fraternity Advisor of the Year:
    James Cosgrove

    The outstanding fraternity advisor of the year award recognizes the individual who has excelled in providing leadership, guidance and direction to his or her fraternity throughout the 2008 calendar year.

  • Award Cup Individual Community Service Award:
    Drew Thompson

    The individual community service award recognizes and highlights the individual male and female in the Greek Community for his or her work in volunteer projects and community service events during the 2008 calendar year. Projects and events may be through Culver-Stockton College, the Canton community, home community, or any national event or organization.

  • Award CupFraternity/Sorority Chapter Community Service Award: Chi Omega
    The fraternity/sorority chapter community service award recognizes and highlights the Sorority and Fraternity that have excelled in volunteer projects and community service events during the 2008 calendar year. Projects and events may be through Culver-Stockton College, the Canton community, home community, or any national event or organization.

Tutorial and Academic Support Center (TASC) Awards

  • Award CupTASC Award for Dedication to Learning:
    Cassidy Litle

    This award is presented to a TASC tutor who has exhibited outstanding dedication to the success of his/her peers as measured by his/her persistence and commitment to helping fellow students learn.

  • Award CupTASC Award for Tutor of the Year:
    Allison Schmidt

    The recipient of this award has been nominated by fellow tutors and recognizes the tutor who has been the most consistent, dependable, flexible, and positive even in the face of his/her own curricular and co-curricular activities.

Residential Life Awards

  • Award CupProgram of the Year:
    Thrill the World

    The most outstanding program presented by a Community Assistant or team of Community Assistants. This program may be either social or educational in focus but should have attracted a number of students. Ideally, this program attracted students with different interests, bringing them together in a unique way.

  • Award CupTeam Player of the Year:
    Becky Miller

    The staff member who was most outstanding with colleagues both inside and outside of his/her assigned hall. This team member showed patience and flexibility during the year and actively worked to solve problems in his/her area. This CA has proven him/herself to be an invaluable member of the team and can always be depended upon for support.

  • Award CupCA of the Year:
    Katie Thomas

    A Community Assistant who performs above and beyond the requirements of the position. A positive, influential member of our staff who has built community, invested personally in his/her residents, provided meaningful programs in their hall and has served as a role model for others in the position.

  • Award CupProgrammer of the Year:
    Molly Glawe

    A Community Assistant who boasts a programming portfolio that has engaged, informed and connected his/her residents. This staff member is adept at gauging the programming needs of his/her community and isn’t afraid to try programs that are “outside the box,” outside their own interest, or create provocative discussion/interaction between residents.

  • Award CupCommunity Builder of the Year:
    Ryan Thoroman

    A Community Assistant whose intentional work in their hall community has left an indelible mark. This staff member has shown dedication working with each type of resident – from the social butterfly to the most reserved student. This CA has consistently searched for ways to bring his/her community together and has worked to create harmony, understanding and respect.

  • Award CupCA Hall of Fame inductee:
    Becky Miller

    An outgoing Community Assistant whose legacy of service has measurably impacted Residential Life at Culver-Stockton College. Throughout his/her career as a CA, has worked to develop communities that are welcoming, safe, fun and inclusive. They have invested in their residents, serving as both a motivating friend and a sterling role model.

Spiritual Life Awards

  • Award CupC-SC Religious Life Award:
    Jordan Cannon

    This award is presented to the student who best represents the spiritual values of the Culver-Stockton Community. Through supporting college religious life in and amongst campus, this person is a true representative of best values of faith and the human spirit.
