Scholarships, Awards, and Grants

Culver-Stockton reviews the individual academic profile of each admitted student and awards a renewable merit scholarship. The merit scholarship, as described below, is the first component in the overall financial assistance available to C-SC students. Use our merit scholarship calculator to estimate the merit scholarship for which you are eligible, based upon your academic credentials. Scholarship CalculatorPillars for Excellence Scholarship
Scholarship Award:
Full-tuition for four years at your freshman tuition value.

This competition scholarship is awarded to a limited number of students with superior academic achievement. Eligible students will be invited to campus to compete for this selective scholarship.

Eligibility: Criteria for competition invitation meeting two out of three requirements:

  1. 27 - 36 ACT (or above 1220 on the SAT, verbal and math score only)
  2. A minimum 3.75 GPA based on a 4.0 grading scale (or equivalent).
  3. Top 10% of graduating class

*If class rank is unavailable, students must meet the other two requirements to be eligible to compete.

Competition: Students are invited to campus to interview with two faculty members and complete an essay prior to the competition.

The scholarship is renewable provided the student maintains a 3.20 GPA.

Pillars recipients are ineligible for additional institutional scholarships or awards throughout their career at C-SC.

Presidential Scholarship
Scholarship Award:
50% tuition upon matriculation at Culver-Stockton College

Eligibility: Participation in the Pillars for Excellence Scholarship Competition. Students not selected for the Pillars for Excellence Scholarship will automatically receive this award.

Hilltop Scholarship
Scholarship Award
: $24,000 ($6,000 per year for four years).

Eligibility: Awarded based upon academic credentials and renewable provided the student remains in good academic standing.

Wildcat Scholarship
Scholarship Award:
$16,000 ($4,000 per year for four years).

Eligibility: Awarded based upon academic credentials and renewable provided the student remains in good academic standing.

Founders' Scholarship
Scholarship Award:
$10,000 ($2,500 per year for four years)

Eligibility: The Founders' competitive scholarship will be awarded, based upon eligibility and available funding, to students meeting outstanding academic criteria. Eligible students will be invited to campus on an individual basis between October 1 and March 1 to compete for this academic scholarship, which can be granted in addition to other merit, performance, or talent awards and need-based funding. Founders' Scholarships many not be combined with the Pillars for Excellence or Presidential Scholarship.

Requirements for Competition:

  • Apply for admission to the college
  • Minimum 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale
  • Meet with a faculty member in a student's academic department of interest
  • Campus tour with current student

Additional Awards and Grants:

A+ Scholarship
We offer a $1,500 scholarship for students who participate in the Missouri A+ Program. For more information on the A+ Scholarship program, please contact your admission counselor for more information.

Disciples Grant
A renewable scholarship of $1,000 may be awarded to students who are members of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). A minimum $1,000 scholarship may be awarded based on eligibility and availability of funding. In addition to the $1,000 minimum award, the college may match the church's contribution from a scholarship fund up to an additional $500 (a maximum award from the college of $1,500). Application and signed agreement required.

Legacy Award
If at least one of the student's parents, grandparents, or siblings have attended Culver-Stockton College full time for one semester or more, the student is eligible for this $1,000 award.

Culver-Stockton Grant
The Culver-Stockton Grant is contingent upon financial need and is determined by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The value of this grant varies and is renewable by demonstrating financial need and academic good standing.

  • Students may receive only one renewable merit scholarship (Pillars for Excellence, Presidential, Hilltop, Wildcat, Dean's, Faculty, Transfer) per year.
  • Nursing students may receive financial aid scholarships from Culver-Stockton College during their freshman and sophomore years. During that time, they also are eligible to participate in the Rewards Program. Once a nursing student is accepted as a junior by the Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing, then Blessing-Rieman determines their financial aid for their junior and senior years. At that point, the student is no longer eligible for the Rewards Program through Culver-Stockton College.

Scholarship Award
: $6,000 each year.
Eligibility: Admitted students are nominated with a minimum 3.40 college GPA. The scholarship is renewable provided the student remains in good academic standing.

Faculty Scholarship
Scholarship Award:
$5,000 each year.

Eligibility: Admitted students are nominated with a minimum 2.80 college GPA. The scholarship is renewable provided the student remains in good academic standing.

Transfer Scholarship
Scholarship Award:
$4,000 each year.

Eligibility: Admitted students are nominated with a minimum 2.00 college GPA. The scholarship is renewable provided the student remains in good academic standing.


Additional Awards and Grants:

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship
A $1,000 scholarship may be available to transfer students who are members of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.

Eligibility: Admitted students are nominated with a minimum 3.50 college GPA. The scholarship is renewable provided the student remains in good academic standing.

Partners In Education Scholarship
We offer a $1,000 scholarship in participation with community colleges. For more information on the Partners In Education Scholarship program contact an admissions counselor for transfers.
