Vice President for Academic Affairs:

Culver-Stockton College invites nominations and applications for the position of Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Culver-Stockton College serves 750 students, nearly all of whom are traditional-age students in residence on the highly attractive campus overlooking the town of Canton, Missouri, and the mighty Mississippi River. Most of the students come from the tri-state area, though students at Culver-Stockton include representatives from 20 states and 13 international locations. As a residential, liberal arts college, Culver-Stockton’s mission is to provide students of promise a superb education.

Culver-Stockton recently launched a new and innovative curriculum that combines the college’s liberal arts tradition with experience-based, real-world opportunities. Named EXP@CSC, the curriculum includes an innovative academic calendar that divides the 15-week college semester into a 12-week term, during which students take several courses, and a 3-week short term, during which most students focus on just one course. Every course and every major emphasizes experiential learning; and the three-week opportunities offer learning options that include immersion courses, internships, research, and travel-related courses.

Sound fiscal policy, balanced budgets, a comprehensive master plan, a new and innovative curriculum, and a sophisticated marketing initiative mark the recent history of the college. Culver-Stockton College boasts an emerging new image as evidenced by its listing at 30th place of Best Baccalaureate Colleges in the Midwest in the 2010 edition of “America’s Best Colleges” by U.S. News & World Report, having moved up 18 positions in the past three years. Further, Culver-Stockton College is only the second college in Missouri to be part of the prestigious Howard Hughes Medical Institute’s (HHMI) Science Education Alliance, having been selected as a full member after just one semester as an associate member in the National Genomics Research Initiative.
