Assistant Professor of Biology
Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Missouri, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Professor of Biology.  This is a full-time tenure-track position beginning in the Fall of 2013. Primary areas of specialty or experience are in anatomy and physiology, and teaching duties include anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, and pathophysiology.  Participation in undergraduate research is expected through advising and/or formal teaching duties associated with senior biology research courses.  A strong commitment to academic advising is expected.  Culver-Stockton College is a full member participant in the Howard Hughes Medical Institute’s (HHMI) Science Education Alliance National Genomics Research Initiative.  The successful candidate will be expected to participate in teaching an innovative, research-based two-semester course for first-year students as part of this HHMI partnership.

A doctorate degree in biological sciences is required by date of appointment along with teaching experience, the ability to work effectively with students and colleagues, and a strong commitment to undergraduate liberal arts education.  ABD candidates will be considered.

Campus Safety Officer
Culver-Stockton College has an immediate opening for a full time Campus Safety Officer.  This is a 12-month position that will have responsibilities in both security and physical plant.  Work hours for this position will vary and include shifts on days, nights, weekends and/or holidays to provide 24 hour coverage as needed.  During the academic year primary responsibilities will include security work such as securing and opening buildings, conducting investigations, report writing, issuing tickets for policy violations, safety checks, patrols and other assigned duties related to basic maintenance tasks.  During the summer months responsibilities will include working with the physical plant on tasks such as mowing, basic landscaping work, trash removal, painting and assisting other physical plant staff with projects.

The candidate must be prepared for physically demanding activities and must be able to spend long periods of time on their feet and traverse all types of terrain in all types of weather.  Must be able to walk/stand for extended periods, climb stairs frequently, and to lift and carry weights of up to 75 pounds. Excellent teamwork and people skills are critical due to frequent contact and interaction with faculty, staff, and students.  A current driver’s license is required along with computer experience and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written.  Must have a strong ability to communicate effectively by radio or telephone in stressful conditions and prior safety/security experience a plus but is not required.

Director of Residence Life
Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Missouri, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Director of Residence Life.  The Director of Residence Life contributes as a member of a highly collaborative Student Life Staff which is committed to educating and empowering students of promise to build a welcoming and inclusive campus community.  Responsibilities include the oversight of six (6) co-educational residence halls that house approximately 600 undergraduate students, coordinating and overseeing all residence life operations including hiring and supervising of all residence life staff and ensuring a viable student life programs in the residence halls. The Director of Residence Life is also responsible for the continual assessment and evaluation of the personnel and programs that comprise the overall residence life program.

The Director of Residence Life is a 12-month position that will live on campus and will receive a room and board stipend as part of the compensation package.

A Master’s Degree in Higher Education or related field is required; along with two-three years of higher education experience (graduate experience will be considered).

Director of Planned and Major Giving
Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Missouri is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Director of Planned and Major Giving. This is a newly created, full time position that will manage and expand the college’s comprehensive marketing, solicitation and stewardship of planned charitable gifts from individuals.  The primary focus of the position will be on planned giving but other responsibilities will include soliciting major gifts to the college.

Head Men’s Volleyball Coach/Facility Coordinator
Culver-Stockton College is seeking qualified candidates for the full-time position of Head Men’s Volleyball Coach/Facility Coordinator.  With the addition of men’s volleyball, C-SC will field 17 NAIA sports which compete in the Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) and the Mid-American Men’s Volleyball Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MAMVIC).  The program will begin intercollegiate competition in the spring of 2014.

In Accordance with all NAIA, MAMVIC and Culver-Stockton College policies and procedures, the position of Head Men’s Volleyball Coach reports to the Director of Athletics and is responsible for the entire operation of the men’s volleyball program, including, but not limited to, the recruitment of student-athletes, contest scheduling, practice and contest planning, player skill development, academic monitoring, office/budget management and general oversight of a selected athletic facility. 

Requirements for this position include a Bachelor’s Degree or significant experience in volleyball required, Master’s Degree preferred, experience as a successful collegiate/pro volleyball player, at least two years of collegiate coaching and the ability to recruit and motivate student-athletes.  The successful candidate must also demonstrate a strong commitment to academic success and compliance with NAIA, MAMVIC and institutional policies and procedures.  Salary will commensurate with experience and C-SC also offers a competitive benefits package.

Men’s Soccer Assistant Coach
Culver-Stockton College is accepting applications for a Men’s Assistant Soccer Coach.  This is a 10-month contract and begins August 1, 2013.  The qualified candidate will assist the College’s Head Men’s Soccer Coach organize and administer all aspects of the NAIA men’s soccer program.  Essential duties include day to day coaching of student athletes, scheduling to enhance championship opportunities and organizing and arranging team travel plans.  This position will be responsible for overseeing and promoting compliance of NAIA rules among staff, student athletes and representatives of athletic interest and budgeting of assigned funds.  The Men’s Soccer Assistant Coach will be expected to assist in the development of a quality NAIA soccer program that will be competitive on the field and in the classroom.  The Men’s Soccer Assistant Coach is also expected to be an ambassador of the college and a valued member of the community.

Qualifications include two years of high school, college, and/or professional coaching; and/or playing experience at the collegiate level.  A bachelor’s degree is preferred as well as four years of related experience.  Special consideration will be given to applicants with Goal Keeper Coaching and/or playing experience.

Compensation consists of $5,000.00 per year with room and board included.
