Academic

Communication
Full-time teaching position beginning in August 2009. Possible tenure-track position with rank dependent upon qualifications. The college seeks a generalist who will teach in the areas of mass communication, public relations, and general communication courses. The position may include supervision of student media programs (newspaper, radio station, etc.) Other responsibilities include academic advising, committee work, and assistance in student recruiting. Knowledge of current trends in curriculum and pedagogy and the experience and ability to provide departmental leadership is preferred. Ph. D. required, ABD may be considered. The successful candidate must have evidence of an ability to work effectively with students and colleagues and have a strong commitment to undergraduate liberal arts education. Administrative

Director of Counseling & Wellness Services
C-SC is seeking a full-time professional to direct our college counseling and wellness services. Responsibilities include: providing individual counseling and crisis intervention for students; advising the Health Outreach Peer Educators (HOPE) student organization; providing training for and consulting with faculty/staff on the prevention and identification of mental health issues; coordinating the health information data collection process for new students; chairing the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention Team (ADAPT); establishing collaborative relationships within the campus community; and, participating in college-wide committees to help support and improve student life and student success/retention.

This position requires excellent written and oral communications skills, a commitment to maintaining high professional standards, and some weekend/evening work. Master’s degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, or Social Work; at least three years of professional counseling experience; and the ability to qualify for state and national licensure within one year of employment, if such licensure is not currently held. Preference will be given to those candidates having experience with college students and/or young adults. The successful candidate must have evidence of an ability to work effectively with students and colleagues and have a strong commitment to undergraduate liberal arts education.

Athletics

Athletic Assistant (Clerical):
This full-time 12 month position will be responsible for all aspects of the athletic department’s clerical needs, as well as working with the admissions office on athletic based data entry needs.

DESCRIPTION: Assists the athletic department and staff with insurance forms, Responsible for student and hourly worker time cards, Works with the athletic budget in detail, Prepares contracts for athletic events, Collects and distributes mail to appropriate personnel, Provides season ticket sales, Maintains Booster club / Concession records, Receptionist duties such as, but not limited to, duplication and fax, Assist the admissions office with data entry and athletic recruiting needs. This position will be expected to interface with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and coaches.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: A high school diploma and three years relevant training or work experience required.  A Bachelors Degree preferred.  Requires excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, experience in computer applications including word processing and spreadsheets.

Head Men’s Soccer Coach Position:
Culver-Stockton College has an opening for a Head Men’s Soccer coach. This is a full-time position with which responsibilities will be combined with either a part-time coaching of men’s golf or teaching (physical education, preferred but not required).

Candidates must be in agreement with the mission of service that our school adheres to, as well as monitor the academic and personal progress of the student athletes. They should embrace the Champions of Character philosophy, and must be a leader with integrity who understands the role of athletics in a small college setting.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree for coaching-only positions; master’s degree for any position combined with teaching responsibilities.  Prior coaching experience and demonstrated successful recruiting in a tuition-driven institution of qualified student-athletes preferred.  College teaching experience desired. Culver-Stockton seeks candidates who support the goals of a strong liberal arts education and demonstrate strong citizenship to student-athletes.

Responsibilities: Positions include recruiting, travel planning, scheduling, budgeting, practice planning, and (in some cases) teaching.

Head Softball Coach Position:
Culver-Stockton College has an opening for a Head Softball Coach. This is a full-time position which includes a teaching load, preferably in the Physical Education Department. Candidates must be in agreement with the mission of service that our school adheres to, as well as monitor the academic and personal progress of the student athletes. They should embrace the Champions of Character philosophy, and must be a leader with integrity who understands the role of athletics in a small college setting.

Qualifications: Master’s degree and previous college softball coaching experience required; head coaching experience, and demonstrated successful recruiting in a tuition driven institution of qualified student-athletes preferred. College teaching experience desired. Culver-Stockton seeks candidates who support the goals of a strong liberal arts education and demonstrate strong citizenship to student-athletes.

Responsibilities: This is a full time position, serving as head coach of the softball team including recruiting, travel planning, scheduling, budgeting, practice planning, and teaching.

Part-time position beginning in August 2009 or as soon as possible thereafter. Responsibilities include coordinating the college’s Dance Team. Must have the ability to recruit students for the Spirit Squad, and coach the college’s dance team. The position could adjunct teach in addition to their duties if appropriately credentialed.

Part-Time Cheer Coach:
Part-time position beginning in August 2009 or as soon as possible thereafter. Responsibilities include coordinating the college’s Cheer Team. Must have the ability to recruit students for the Spirit Squad, and coach the college’s cheer team.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree for coaching position; master’s degree necessary for any additional adjunct teaching load.

The successful candidate must have evidence of an ability to work effectively with students and colleagues and have a strong commitment to the undergraduate liberal arts education.
