Moving to Campus
SEVIS stands for the Student Exchange and Visitor Information System. The program has been initiated by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to electronically track international students pursuing academic or vocational programs in the United States. Under SEVIS, specific information about each international student must be reported to the ICE within a designated time frame. Download the SEVIS form here.
Accepted students are sent an acceptance packet to complete. Part of the acceptance packet has a $2,000 advance tuition payment that must be submitted first in order for Culver-Stockton to issue an I-20 form. Once the I-20 form has been submitted, students will need to complete a I-901 form and pay a $200 SEVIS fee.
- Hand carry (do not check with baggage) the following items: passport, I-20, evidence of financial resources, tuition receipts, transcripts (or letter of acceptance), paper receipt for the SEVIS fee, the name and contact information of the student's designated school official.
- Inform the DBP officer at the port of entry as soon possible that you will be a new or returning student in the United States.
- Report to Culver-Stockton College upon arrival so that your school official can validate your participation in SEVIS.
