Theatre (BA)

Students at C-SC perform in the production of The Addams Family

About the Program

The BA in Theatre allows students the opportunity to study two distinct disciplines. BA Students take on a second Bachelor’s degree in their four years at C-SC.

Our philosophy is simple: C-SC theatre is your theatre. Our faculty members will guide you in rigorous academic studies and production work. All theatre students have the  opportunity to design mainstage productions and direct full-length shows, and with no freshman freeze, you’ll begin gaining the experience you need to be successful right away.

What Makes the Program Distinctive?

Students perform in productions as early as their first semester. You may audition for and earn scholarships to study or participate in mainstage theatre. We produce four mainstage productions including one musical and multiple student-directed one act plays each year. Students may design, manage, or dramaturg mainstage productions. Each year students work with a professional actor in the annual Guest Artist Production and take master classes taught by professionals. We have work-study in scene, costume, lighting, sound and internships at summer theatres are available.

After C-SC

Our students either work in the professional field or continue with graduate study. Graduates in the professional field work full time in performance, company and house management, as well as design and crew work.

“During my time at C-SC as a double major in thetre and art, I have had several opportunities to experience many new things while honing my artistic abilities. Plus, meeting new people from so many different places is exciting and new!”
