Living on the Culver-Stockton College Campus

See our campus life pages for more complete student life information.

Where can I live?
All students under the age of 24 are required to live on campus unless they live with their parents who live within 50 miles of the college. Living on campus enables you to become an integral part of our campus community.

What are the residence hall accommodations like?
We provide amenities for a productive environment to get the most from your college experiences. See our residence halls list from our campus life page to learn more.

What should I bring?
Each of the residence hall rooms on campus are provided with: twin extra-long-sized beds, dresser space, desks, desk chairs, closet space, window coverings, and mirrors. Additionally, all residence halls have wireless internet access throughout the buildings.

As an international student, it can be difficult to bring all the items you may want. Often, international students will have packages shipped to them ahead of time to the Admissions Office so that they are here when they arrive. You are encouraged to bring the basic supplies you will need to get set up in your room such as one set of sheets and a towel, and buy the rest of these items once you get here. Coats, heavy jackets, gloves, and warm boots are essential in the winter and can be bought locally. Items listed here on Culver-Stockton’s Residence Life website may be purchased locally and will add to the comfort of the room.

What about housing during vacations?
During most breaks, all students can stay on campus. There are two school holidays, the winter and spring break, where all residence halls or dorms are closed. Other options may exist and you can check with the housing office. However, you may find new friends here that invite you home with them!

Is it possible to visit home or travel during breaks, i.e., what is the necessary documentation required for these activities?
It is possible to travel within and outside of the United States. during the breaks. However, students must check with the International Student Advisor regarding current U.S. government rules and regulations in order to maintain your student visa. You should also apply for the appropriate visa for any country you are visiting, including Canada or Mexico if needed.

Generally you should carry the following documents with you to re-enter the United States:

  • Valid passport (should be valid for at least 6 months from date of entry into United States. Apply for renewal or extension from your government.)

  • Valid U.S. visa at the time of re-entering the United States

  • If you are returning from Canada or Mexico, you are allowed to reenter the United States with an expired visa provided that 1) your absence did not exceed 30 days and 2) you are not a citizen of Iraq, Iran, Syria, Libya, Sudan, North Korea and Cuba.

  • Valid I-20 with a signature of the International Student Advisor or other designated Culver-Stockton College official. If you leave for longer than five months and do not continue enrollment at Culver-Stockton (with a leave of absence), you must have a new I-20 issued in order to re-enter.
