Gel image genius

Being a studio art major at Culver-Stockton College has given me the freedom to explore my own creativity and talent, as well as many different types of mediums. I learned the basics of each medium and then decided which to explore more in-depth.  I also used Culver-Stockton’s independent study program to discover and explore a new medium, gel image transfers.  Never heard of gel transfer?  It allows you to print on surfaces other than paper; it’s a really cool technique!

The 12/3 academic calendar is pretty great, too.  I take four classes during the 12-week terms,which, for me, is far less stressful.  And I’ve used my 3-week terms to take advantage of some amazing opportunities, like traveling to the southwest for photography, completing a photography internship, finishing a class I was dreading – statistics – in just 3-weeks, and, recently, I studied abroad in Russia, Finland and Estonia.

Being a student at Culver-Stockton challenged me to exceed my own expectations and pushed me to become a better artist, while giving me experiences and opportunities I never imagined!
