Nursing, Culver-Stockton College

Nursing

Culver-Stockton College partners with the Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing (BRCN) to provide an academically and clinically excellent program that leads to a jointly conferred bachelor's of science degree in nursing.

As a nursing major in this program, you will spend four years as a joint student enjoying campus life experiences and learning hands-on nursing at a regional health care campus. You can participate in sports, fine arts, music, Greek life, and any other C-SC student organization. All nursing courses are on the Blessing-Rieman campus, which offers a skills lab, nursing library, and computer lab.

Most students spend the first two years of the four-year program living on the Culver-Stockton campus in Canton, Mo., Some students live in Quincy for their junior and senior years, but many nursing students live on the C-SC campus and remain active in their Greek house or other student activities.

Students are accepted into the nursing program as sophomores, and clinical placement is guaranteed. Clinical experiences include Blessing Hospital, area nursing homes, health departments, mental health agencies, and others.

Students not only earn a nursing degree, they also acquire the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values needed for professional nursing practice and lifelong learning. C-SC and BRCN combine the staff and faculty expertise, resources and commitment of both campuses, which creates a unique opportunity for students interested in a nursing career.

What can I do with this major?
If you are interested in working with people and improving society, then you will find a career in a nursing degree with a liberal arts background can take you in many directions – clinical practice in a hospital or physician setting, community health, health management, consulting, traveling nurse, armed forces, home care ... just to name a few.
