Nursing
Clinical placement is guaranteed.
You will receive more than 900 hours of hands-on experience in a variety of settings that include the emergency room, intensive care units, pediatrics, obstetrics, medical/surgical, psychiatric and many different community settings.
By the end of four years in the program, nursing majors have provided nursing care to patients of all age groups and acquired hands-on nursing experience in acute care hospitals, extended care facilities, schools, and community health agencies.
In addition, we encourage students to complete an internship in nursing in the summer after their junior year. Due to our reputation for excellence, a wide variety of internships are available or you can submit your own internship site for approval. Recent internships include:
- Barnes Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.
- Blessing Hospital, Quincy, Ill.
- The Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minn. (which reserves two positions each summer for our students)
- Yale-New Haven Hospital, New Haven, Conn.
