Yet to be inaugurated, Fox already part of Culver

A Courier-Post commentary

On Saturday, William Fox will be inaugurated as the 24th president of Culver-Stockton College, a role in which he will have an impact on those who will lead our communities years from now.

Only weeks after accepting the post, Fox saw Culver devastated by a tornado in which the Charles Field House, home to graduation exercises only hours earlier, was destroyed and other buildings damaged.

Officially starting in June, Fox faced not only a new position, but the aftermath of the tornado. Rather than dwell on the destruction, Culver has moved forward and Fox has been a part of that process.

While those storms were devastating, Fox saw how the community banded together, neighbor helping neighbor. He has had a hand in the rebuilding process, ensuring the campus housed the facilities needed to provide the proper learning environment.

Nearly a year since his selection, Fox will be inaugurated Saturday. We are sure Fox sees his new home in a much different light than when he accepted the post last April. While the buildings may be different, the values and spirit of Northeastern Missouri remain strong.

We welcome William Fox to Northeast Missouri and wish him well in leading Culver-Stockton College in the years to come.
