C-SC Education Division names inductees to Hall of Excellence

CANTON, MO—The Culver-Stockton College Division of Education will honor the first inductees of the new Education Hall of Excellence on Friday, April 13, at 6:30 p.m. at Spring Lake Country Club in Quincy, Ill.
Eight inductees will make up the charter membership of the Education Hall of Excellence. They will be honored at the dinner with a program that will include statements of their educational contributions and philosophy. The program will feature how their careers in education have personified making a difference in the lives of young people by going the extra, creative mile.
The eight honorees are Walter Richardson '59 of Columbus, Ohio; Lauren Rentfro '86 of New Lenox, Ill.; Mary Weidenhaft '86 of Sullivan, Mo.; William Grega '84 of Springfield, Mo.; Richard Clodfelter '89 of Brooklyn, New York; Fred Bouchard '87 of Harrisonville, Mo.; Gene Curran '70 of Lake Zurich, Ill.; and Sue Stephenson '80 of Canton, Ill.
During the program, the education department will also recognize the 37 seniors from Culver-Stockton College who completed student teaching during the 2006-07 school year.
The Education Hall of Excellence is designed to honor alumni of Culver-Stockton who are in the education field. To be nominated and selected for this honor, educators must have 10 years of teaching experience and must have demonstrated extraordinary entrepreneurial distinctiveness.
The photos and educational statements of the members of the Education Hall of Excellence will be displayed in the education department.
