C-SC Wind Ensemble to present concert

The Culver-Stockton College Wind Ensemble will present a concert on Sunday, February 24, at 3 p.m. in Alexander Campbell Auditorium, located in Robert W. Brown Performing Arts Center. The event is free and open to the public.
The concert will feature guest ensemble Illini West High School Band, of Carthage, Ill., directed by Linda Hartweg. The guest ensemble will perform Shenandoah by Frank Ticheli and Antares by Richard Saucedo. The Wind Ensemble will perform selections including Short Ride in a Fast Machine by John Adams and Under the Cover of Night, Into the Light of Day by Stephen Melillo. Both ensembles will combine for the final selection of the concert playing the Fairest of the Fair by John Philip Sousa.
The Wind Ensemble is a select group of about 40 instrumentalists chosen through audition. Thomas Herb, director of instrumental music and assistant professor of woodwinds and music education, will direct both ensembles.
