C-SC to host Storm Spotter certification course
Wednesday, February 20, 2008

CANTON, Mo. -- Area residents interested in becoming certified by the National Weather Service as storm spotters are invited to attend a free training course on Wednesday, April 2, hosted by Culver-Stockton College. The session will be held from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. in Mabee Lecture Hall in the Herrick Foundation Center.

“This is important training for residents of this area, where we frequently deal with severe storms,” said Robert Sadler, C-SC professor who teaches the meteorology class. “April to June is peak tornado season in the tri-state area, so this training could make a difference in warning our communities of approaching storms.”

Space is limited. To register on a first-come, first-served basis, call 573-288-6333.
