C-SC Business Division hosts visit day for high school students

CANTON, Mo. – The Culver-Stockton College Business Division will host a visit day for high school students on Tuesday, October 28, on the C-SC campus.

The day begins with registration in the Herrick Foundation Center from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Dr. Dell Ann Janney, chair of the C-SC Business Division, and Steve Puck, director of transfer operations and event planning, will welcome students. At 10 a.m., four concurrent sessions will be offered, with students selecting from programs about EXP@CSC, the Culver-Stockton curriculum; studying abroad, introducing students to the wealth of opportunity that the college offers with study abroad courses; Investing Your Paycheck, community programs sponsored by the Business Division; and Jeopardy®, a fun game show way of introducing students to business. Students will have the opportunity to attend all four sessions.

“The four half-hour sessions are designed to give the students an informative and entertaining venue while learning about the business world and the various experiences the college has to offer. Each session is led by business majors so that high school students get the messages from a closer perspective to which they can better relate,” said Chris Huseman, assistant professor of business.

After lunch, students will hear from Melik Peter Khoury, vice president for enrollment management and college marketing, and view presentations given by members of Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE)/Phi Beta Lambda Chapter. During this presentation C-SC students will discuss their experiences with leadership conferences and regional competitions. The student chapter of Institute of Management Accountants will also give a presentation discussing the awards and recognitions received by the chapter, as well as their experiences at student and national conferences. Campus tours will also be available.
