Set in a resort-style fishing lodge in rural Georgia, the comedy revolves around two of its guests, Charlie Baker, being played by Doherty. Due to his extreme shyness, Charlie is unable to speak. To explain the situation, Froggy claims his companion is the native of an exotic country who does not understand a word of English. Before long, Charlie finds himself privy to assorted secrets and scandals freely discussed in front of him by the other visitors. Junior theatre major Nick Relic from Kansas City, Mo, will understudy Doherty. The student cast includes: + Froggy – Sean Myers, junior, arts management major, Hannibal, Mo. + Catherine Simms - Danielle Hauer, sophomore, arts management major, Troy, Mo. + Rev. David Lee - Daniel Coffman, senior, musical theatre major, Eldridge, Iowa + Ellard Simms - Zach Martin, sophomore, speech and theatre education major, Decatur, Ill. + Owen Musser - Ian Heath, freshman, English/pre-law major, St. Louis, Mo. + Betty Meeks - Nicole Herrington, senior history/theatre major, Quincy, Ill. The townspeople and the Klan are played by Aaron Robertson, sophomore arts management major, Taylorville, Ill.; Rex Fults, senior arts management major, Lake of the Ozarks, Mo.; Amanda Eisele, sophomore arts management major, Mexico, Mo.; Dakota McKee, freshman theatre major, Pittsfield, Ill.; and Erin Carmody, freshman speech and theatre education major, St. Louis, Mo. The production crew includes stage manager Sarah Maloney, freshman arts management/theatre major, Kansas City, Mo.; assistant stage managers Joey Burbach, freshman music education major, Grant City, Mo., and Susannah Mohaupt, sophomore nursing major, Rockford, Ill.; and assistant director Bre-Rachelle Taylor, senior theatre major, Barnhart, Mo. The April production of The Foreigner, under the direction of C-SC associate professor of theatre, Haidee Heaton, will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, April 2-4, and at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 5, in the Mabee Little Theatre in the Performing Arts Center on the C-SC campus.
