Students receive awards at C-SC Honors Day Convocation

CANTON, Mo. – Culver-Stockton continued its annual tradition of honoring the accomplishments of members of the Class of 2009, who will be graduating on May 9, as well as several other students during the Honors Day Convocation Thursday, April 9.

About 70 students received awards for overall academic achievement, outstanding performance within their major, academic competition, and scholar athlete rankings. Many of the awards have been established by or in memory of Culver-Stockton alumni/ae.

“It is important that we keep fresh this wonderful tradition to celebrate student achievement and to remember other students who had their moment of glory here and who went on to make this college proud,” said C-SC President William L. Fox. “As you participate today, consider not just what you have achieved but what you want to become.”

Awards and recipients include:
• The NAIA-Daktronics Scholar-Athlete Award for volleyball, Anna Hechler, senior early childhood education major from Barry, Ill.
• The J. David Bursewicz Senior Scholarship Award, Alysa Platt, senior psychology/pre-occupational therapy major from, Hull, Ill.
