Culver-Stockton names Ayers, Reisinger as Distinguished Alumni

CANTON, Mo. – Culver-Stockton College will honor two alumni as part of its 2009 Homecoming events this week. Bob Ayers of Canton and Erick “Rick” Reisinger of Greenwood, Ind., will be honored as distinguished alumni during the Alumni Recognition Dinner at 6:30 p.m. Friday, September 25, at the Quincy Holiday Inn, 4821 Oak St.
Ayers and Reisinger also will take part in the Distinguished Alumni Panel Discussion at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Meaders Lounge in the Gladys Crown Student Center on the C-SC campus.
Ayers graduated from Culver-Stockton in 1953 with a bachelor’s of science degree in business administration. The Ayers Oil Company was founded in 1924 by W.H. Ayers, and Bob Ayers served as the company president from 1973 to 1996. He currently serves as chairman of the board for the firm’s Missouri and Illinois oil companies. During his 23 years as company president, he also served as director of the Commerce Bank of Hannibal, director of the Missouri Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the Canton School Board. He has served on the C-SC Board of Trustees since 1986. He also has been director of the Missouri Tourism Commission, served on the Methodist Church Board of Trustees, and president of the Missouri Petroleum Marketers Association.
Reisinger graduated from Culver-Stockton College in 1976 with a bachelor’s of science degree in business administration and economics. He began work with the Board of Church Extension of Disciples of Christ, Indianapolis, Ind., in 1976 and currently serves as vice president and treasurer. He also serves on the board of the Wilshire Christian Church Foundation in Los Angeles, Calif., as treasurer for the World Convention of Churches of Christ in Nashville, Tenn., and on the insurance board of the United Church of Christ in Gaithersburg, Md. He is active with the Big Brothers of Greater Indianapolis and has participated in a number of mission trips for all ages.
