C-SC eligible to award scholaships to Hannibal graduates
Thursday, November 12, 2009
CANTON, Mo. – Hannibal High School students who choose to attend Culver-Stockton College may be eligible to receive a scholarship made possible by a recent $25,000 donation to the Missouri College Fund (MCF). MCF has announced the donation from the George H. Riedel Private Foundation that underwrites the George H. Riedel Private Foundation Scholarship Program, which creates five scholarships of $5,000 each for graduates of Hannibal High School who attend one of 16 MCF-member schools. The scholarships will be awarded by the colleges based on financial need.
“We are very grateful to the George H. Riedel Private Foundation for its generous gift to the Missouri College Fund,” said Culver-Stockton President Richard Valentine. “We appreciate the foundation’s support of private education as a way to improve students’ access to higher education and to strengthen the state of Missouri by developing a more educated workforce.”
“We look forward to welcoming students from Hannibal to our campus,” Valentine added.
Information about applying to Culver-Stockton is available online at www.culver.edu.
MCF member schools are independent baccalaureate degree-granting liberal arts and comprehensive colleges and universities in the state of Missouri. Their income is derived primarily from private sources. More information about MCF can be found online at www.mocollegesfund.org.
