C-SC invites businesses to “Set Up for Success” with students
Tuesday, March 02, 2010
CANTON, Mo. – Culver-Stockton College is welcoming recruiters and human resource representatives from regional businesses on campus Tuesday, March 23 at 10 a.m. to meet potential interns and employees at the annual C-SC Career and Internship Fair.
Outstanding regional employers will have a chance to represent their organization regarding current job opportunities, potential internships, summer work, and the current job market. They will also have a chance to learn about C-SC’s new academic program, EXP@CSC; the basis of which is experiential learning. Because of EXP@CSC’s hands-on learning, students can offer résumés that reflect recent and goal-oriented work experience.
This semester, students are participating in many internships around the region. There is a nursing student interning with Quincy Medical Group, a finance major working with a non-profit agency in Illinois, a sports management major programming for Quincy Parks and Recreation, and a psychology student working with youth for the State of Missouri.
Culver-Stockton offers majors in: accounting, business, management, criminal justice, education, recreation management, athletic training, communications, fine arts, graphic design, arts management, biology, English, history, music, theatre, and many more. Many of these programs require students to participate in a professional internship before graduation.
All area businesses interested in attending the C-SC Career and Internship Fair to meet potential interns or employees, please contact Nancy Nish, C-SC career services coordinator, at nnish@culver.edu or 573-288-6536 by March 10.
