EDM was developed by C-SC to help recognize deserving members of the community that have demonstrated qualities of good faith and human spirit, despite personal limitations or hardships. “It is an honor to have the City of Canton annually recognize Extreme Dome Makeover (EDM) Day. We are extremely excited to work with the city and with our fellow volunteers to reward people who contribute so much for their community.” said President Richard Valentine. Guided by EDM’s motto “Do something that makes a difference,” team members will collaborate with city officials, local churches, charitable organizations, businesses, and community members to build a united community service team that will make a contribution and impact on the Canton community. EDM plans to seek-out four deserving individuals in the Canton community and reward them with an exterior home makeover. All makeovers will be made possible by EDM team members and donations from the community. In addition to the four exterior makeovers, team members will also work with Canton city officials to makeover one city project as well. Four houses and one city project are not the only projects that EDM plans to accomplish that day. With an estimated 300 volunteers, the team plans to fan out across the city and help others in need of home improvements as well. Interested parties may tell the EDM team about your needed home improvement projects, nominate someone for a home makeover, sign-up to participate, or donate to the cause at the EDM website, culver.edu/dome. More details, recipient bios, and other makeover stories will be also available on the website in the future. Join EDM team members as they march down the “Hill” and strive to show just how powerful a small community can be. This is a chance Canton community members to show the strength and commitment of this city. Home makeover recipients will be announced on July 31, 2010. OTHER FEATURED ARTICLES
