C-SC "True to Blue" for Homecoming weekend

CANTON, Mo. – Culver-Stockton students, alumni, faculty, staff and friends will be “True to Blue” for this year’s Homecoming celebration Sept. 30 through Oct. 3.

Homecoming events begin Thursday, Sept. 30 with an Art Gallery Exhibit and Reception in Herrick Foundation Center from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Art will be presented by C-SC alumni Kent Kriegshauser ’81, Ken Mitchell ’84 and Kevin Dingman ’86. The Culver-Stockton College Theatre Department will also present its production “The Foursome” at 8 p.m. on Thursday. The production will be held at the Lewis Street Playhouse in downtown Canton. This performance contains adult themes and language which may not be suitable for children.

On Friday everyone is invited to Meaders Lounge inside the Gladys Crown Center for the Distinguished Alumni Panel, held from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Hear distinguished alumni Major General Gary T. McCoy ’75 and Joe Knittig ’93 discuss life lessons. Also on Friday, the annual golf outing will take place at the Quincy County Club. Amy Ward ’01, the 2010 Young Alumni award recipient will take part in the golf outing. Registration and lunch is from 11-11:45 a.m., tee off is at Noon.

Friday evening, Culver-Stockton College will hold its 2010 Education Hall of Excellence reception from 3-5 p.m. at the Lewis Street Playhouse in downtown Canton. The Athletic Hall of Fame Recognition Dinner will be held from 6-8 p.m. in the Gladys Crown Center Dining Hall. An alumni and friends mixer will follow at the Lewis Street Playhouse.

On Saturday, Oct. 2, Homecoming highlights include the 5K Wildcat Fun Run/Walk at 7 a.m., the Homecoming parade through downtown Canton beginning at 10 a.m., and the Homecoming football game versus Baker University at 2 p.m. at Ellison Poulton Stadium. Pregame ceremonies begin at 1:30 p.m.

Alumni and friends are also invited to take part in a variety of other activities during Homecoming weekend including the Wildcat Huddle Alumni and Friends Cookout, campus tours, and the Blue and White Honors Banquet. A full schedule of events is available at www.culver.edu/events.

The weekend comes to a close on Sunday, Oct. 3 with a Memorial Service in Merillat Chapel in the Robert W. Brown Performing Arts Center.
