Culver-Stockton welcomes students with “Explore the Roar” events

CANTON, Mo. – In preparation for the 2011-12 academic year, Culver-Stockton College will host a number of events and activities to welcome new and returning students to campus Sunday, Aug. 14 through Friday, Aug. 26.

Move-in day for fall athletes, Wildcat Welcome Guides and select teaching assistants is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 14. An athletes’ parents’ orientation session will be held, as well as training sessions for Welcome Guides and teaching assistants.

Move-in day for new C-SC students will take place Thursday, Aug. 18. Afternoon events include a welcome celebration on the Quad of the C-SC campus and First-Year Experience faculty presentations for parents. Matriculation begins at 3:30 p.m., with presentations from Eric Barkley, C-SC director of advancement and alumni programs and Bob Dudolski, assistant dean of student life. The Bon Voyage barbecue begins at 5 p.m. on the C-SC Quad, and the evening will conclude with a number of activities.

The second annual Extreme Dome Makeover will take place Saturday, Aug. 20 beginning at 10 a.m. at various Canton community sites. The day of service will culminate with a dinner for participants at Ellison Poulton Stadium and a scrimmage football game. Additional student activities include a movie screening and ice cream social.

Returning students are scheduled to move-in to campus housing Sunday, Aug. 21.

The fall semester officially begins Monday, Aug. 22, with Welcome Week events planned each evening through the week.
