Original art of C-SC art students and faculty displayed, awarded

CANTON, Mo. – Several students and faculty members of the Culver-Stockton College art department were recently honored for their original works. Melissa Moon, senior studio art major from Colchester, Ill., entered her photography in the Rain Tree Arts Council Juried Exhibition and received first place in the amateur division. Janell Nevius, senior graphic design major from Waverly, Ill., was awarded third place in a recent juried exhibition at John Wood Community College. Debra Scoggin/Myers, C-SC lecturer in art, took part in a one woman exhibition at the Hannibal Clinic. She received an honorable mention at the Hannibal Arts Council Original Exhibition; first place in watercolor, professional division at the Clarksville Rain Tree Juried Art Exhibition; and honorable mention at the John Wood Community College juried exhibition. She is also exhibiting in the Go Big or Go Home exhibit.

In addition, Robert Kennon, C-SC associate professor of art, is exhibiting his prints with three other printmakers. Their traveling show, titled 4 Directions/4 Printmakers, has been on display at the University of Missouri, St. Louis; North Central University, Naperville, Ill.; Simpson College, Indianola, Iowa; and CSPS/Legion Arts Alternative Gallery, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
