Commerce bank awards $16,000 scholarship grant to the Missouri Colleges Fund

CANTON, Mo. -- Citing a desire to invest in education in the State of Missouri, COMMERCE BANK recently provided a grant of $16,000 to the Missouri Colleges Fund (MCF).

The grant will underwrite $1,000 student scholarships at each of the 16 MCF member schools. These scholarships will be awarded by the member schools on the basis of financial need.

“Culver-Stockton College is very grateful to COMMERCE BANK and the Missouri Colleges Fund for this gift,” said Richard Valentine, president. “This contribution recognizes the importance of education and the significant impact that an educated workforce has on Missouri’s economy.”

The MCF was formed in 1952 as a non-profit corporation. The MCF Mission is to acquire resources to help educate students in its 16 member private liberal-arts colleges and universities.

Missouri Colleges Fund member schools include Avila University, Kansas City; Central Methodist University, Fayette; Columbia College, Columbia; Culver-Stockton College, Canton; Drury University, Springfield; Evangel University, Springfield; Fontbonne University, St. Louis; Hannibal – LaGrange University, Hannibal; Maryville University, St. Louis; Missouri Baptist University, St. Louis; Park University, Parkville; Rockhurst University, Kansas City; Southwest Baptist University, Bolivar; Westminster College, Fulton; William Jewell College, Liberty; and William Woods University, Fulton.
