Kennedy Center's American College Theatre honors C-SC students

CANTON, Mo. – Culver-Stockton College would like to congratulate C-SC theatre students on their recent performance at the Kennedy Center's American College Theatre Region V Festival 44 held in Ames, Iowa, Jan. 15-21.
Honorees include:
Sara Dern, sophomore theatre major from Merriam-Woods, Mo. – 2nd Place, Regional Sound Design Competition for work on “A Streetcar Named Desire.”
Joey Burbach, senior theatre major from Grant City, Mo. - Merit Award, Projection Design for work on “Dead Man’s Cell Phone.”
Dakota McKee, senior theatre major from Pittsfield, Ill. – Merit Award, Lighting Designs for work on “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” and “I Hate Hamlet.”
Brandon Mundschenk, sophomore theatre major from Deer Park, Ill. - Merit Award, Sound Design for work on “Dead Man's Cell Phone.” Merit Award, Stage Management for work on “A Streetcar Named Desire.”
In addition, Tim Maples, junior musical theatre major from Chicago, Ill. (60618) was one of 64 students selected from a field of 300 to advance to the semi-final round for the Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship Competition.
Students were mentored throughout the fall semester by faculty members including Tony Luetkenhaus, instructor of theatre and technical director; Kent Miller, professor of theatre and chair of the Fine Arts Division; and Haidee Heaton, associate professor and head of the theatre department. “Our theatre students are doing some excellent work holding their own against some of the ‘powerhouse’ schools in the region. We couldn't be more proud of each and every one of them,” commented Heaton.
