Culver-Stockton inducts new freshmen honor society members

CANTON, Mo. –Culver-Stockton College’s chapter of Phi Eta Sigma inducted 40 freshmen into its organization on March 14, 2012. Inductees must be first-year students with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale at the close of any full-time curricular period during their first year.

New inductees include:

Phi Eta Sigma is a national college scholastic honor society for freshmen. A member of the Association of College Honor Societies, it was founded at the University of Illinois on March 23, 1923. Its goal is to encourage and reward high scholastic attainment among freshmen in institutions of higher learning.

There are more than 300 chapters throughout the United States and some 700,000 members. National conventions are held every two years with student delegates from each chapter attending at the national expense.
